I want to thank everyone who has helped the production! We have been able to make a lot of improvements in the show over the last couple of years because of generous help of our fans.

The best way to help is to work with our donations coordinator, Rick Pike. (see below).

We also welcome gift cards that can be sent to the PO Box for the Production along with other correspondence:

  Hidden Frontier
  PO Box 60815
  Pasadena, California
  USA
  91116-0815

We can't accept cash at this post box address, however Rick Pike can help you with the various ways you can contribute.

Thanks again for everyone who's helped out!

Rob

HELPING OUT HIDDEN FRONTIER PRODUCTIONS

Hi folks, this is Rick. In response to many requests, I wanted to provide you with details on how you can help the Hidden Frontier Productions with a small contribution to help defray some of the costs of making Odyssey, Helena Chronicles, Federation One, and the new Frontier Guard series.

If you've been saying to yourself, "Gee, I really like these shows and wish I could help out the Hidden Frontier folks" -- well, here is a great way to do so easily and relatively painlessly...

Hidden Frontier, Odyssey, Helena Chronicles, and Federation One are considered fanfilms. They build on the broadcast Star Trek television and movie franchise. Because Paramount/CBS owns the copyright to those shows, fanfilms have to honor that copyright by not making any profits from using their characters, stories, logos, etc.

Rob Caves and his Hidden Frontier Productions has been doing this for over 8 years, and they have always honored that unwritten rule of not generating any profits. When they need equipment, or supplies, or materials necessary to bring us shows of such quality, the money comes directly out of the pockets of these volunteers for things such as lighting, props, makeup, fabric, costumes, software, recording media, cameras and lenses, horghans, red goo, shellfish, and other things, it all adds up. Fast. It takes a lot of red goo to keep a Grand Majan satisfied these days!

And with pre-production of the new, original science fiction production "Frontier Guard" underway, there are lots of additional things we'd like to be able to do... but as you know, everything costs money.

Cash Donations (Check or Money Order)

So here's where we can help them out and do a good thing. And for me, and maybe you, it's my small way of giving back for all the great enjoyment I've gotten from them and their shows. We can provide donations to Rob and the productions to be used exclusively for necessary items for making the productions. No profits of any kind are raised or kept. This honors the copyright, and also provides a means for these productions to be made on their very, very tight budgets.

For those in the United States, you can mail a check or money order donation directly to:

    Hidden Frontier Productions
    P.O. Box 60815
    Pasadena, CA 91116-0815

(make it payable to: Rob Caves and include your name, e-mail, and forum name).

And if you are not in the U.S. but would like to use a check, cheque, or foreign currency money order for a donation, PM Rick and he can make arrangements with other HF fans around the world to help convert the money and get it into the donation pool. (Contacts: PM rick20625 here on the forum, or e-mail to: rpike@hiddenfrontier.com

Paypal and Credit Card Donations

Rick has set up a special account on Paypal just for donations to Hidden Frontier. We used this method very successfully last year to accept donations from HF fans from around the world. This made it possible for us to purchase a new editing computer to replace an older, slower, dying one (which has really made a difference in the speed and quality of production of the shows). We have also used funds to purchase makeup supplies, costume material, a new light, and a new server to help distribute the shows, downloads, and supplement the website and forums. Recently, in a separate campaign, we raised some funds for the meeting space used for the EB3 fan conference.

You can make a donation, of any amount, from $1 to $5, $25, or even $1,000,000 (don't we wish!!). It is paid online to Rick's special Paypal account using your own Paypal account transfer, or anyone anywhere in the world can simply go to the Paypal page and send money from a credit card or debit card.

OK, Here is how it works (it's simple and secure)

To make your credit card or Paypal account donation to support the productions, simply go to the Paypal secure website at: https://www.paypal.com

    1. Click on the SEND MONEY link or tab
    2. TO: RICKMALEMODEL@HOTMAIL.COM
    3. TYPE: * Service/Other
    4. FROM: Your information
    5. AMOUNT: Your donation (it will probably display in your local currency)
    6. In the notes box, please provide your name (as you wish me to convey it), your HF Forum Name, and a valid E-mail address. Also, tell us how you would like your donation allocated: any production as needed; for Star Trek-based shows only; for HF independent shows (Frontier Guard) only. Also, unless you tell me differently, I will post your name and forum name on our "thank you" page. (Rick can also make arrangements if you'd prefer to donate anonymously -- just contact him in advance or include a note).

I know that Rob and the rest of the folks who give so much of their time to make these shows and this website happen will appreciate any donation you can make... and it's a way we can give back a little to them. So please help out if you can.

Thanks.

Rick
(always hoping to stay out of Davey Jones' locker and one step ahead of Seram Majan!)

========================================

Donation made easy: Recycle those Gift Cards!

For those in the U.S. who are short on cash, but who have some gift cards to places like Target, Wal-Mart, HomeDepot, or other large stores where the production might be able to purchase supplies and materials, consider sending them in to the following address (along with your name, e-mail, and forum name).

    Hidden Frontier Productions
    P.O. Box 60815
    Pasadena, CA 91116-0815

=========================================

Hopefully that covers everything you might need to know. If not, contact Rick at rick20625 here on the forum, or e-mail to: rpike@hiddenfrontier.com with any questions about how you can help out the productions.

Thanks for becoming part of the team!

Rob has put up a nice (sad) tour of the studio to show what we need to do to keep the productions going. All the things he shows are really basic needs (and when you see what he has been making do with for years, you will feel sorry, compassion, pathos, etc., etc., etc.,) and afterwards, please go up to the donation section at the top and send a few dollars to help him make these modest improvements).

Rob's Studio Upgrade Thread: http://forums.hiddenfrontier.com/index.php...st&p=248507

This is a fanfilm, but the results are as good as they are because everyone helps out as they can, donates enormous amounts of time, and then, spends even more money and energy to make it available online here. Please help out it you can.

If you've got some spare cash lying around, please consider a small credit or Paypal donation -- maybe give up a couple Starbucks and send that over to help out the HFP shows like Odyssey and Helena Chronicles, and Federation One. And, help us get a start and get in on the ground floor of Rob's planned all-original science fiction production, Frontier Guard.

Thanks again!

HFP HALL OF FAME DONORS
donors from Winter/Spring 2009

Christopher Cappuccio (crystalwearer)

Todd Isaac (kujhawker)

Jörg Clausen
Bill Hargen
Alan Batie
Roger Schaffland
Talia Heart
Rick Pike

...and others

In addition, Rob has been acknowledging these great people and other donors in the end title credits of the various shows. When you see the THANK YOU credits, everyone should thank them as well. Without their support and donations of supplies and funds for the expenses associated with making these shows, it would be almost impossible to keep up the production schedule and maintain the quality level. I think everyone will agree that the quality of the shows is reaching new heights with each new release. That's due in no small part to the support of fans like these.

So, to these folks and others who helped support the productions, thank you very, very much from Rob and his team for all the support you provide -- both financial support and your fan support. We couldn't continue to do it without both.

Anyone who would like to become a supporter of the productions, please contact me and I will tell you our most critical needs at the moment. Or, Paypal is always appreciated (see first or second post in this thread for details).

Hey guys,

We've been blowing through tapes lately with three shows in production! These have come down in price a LOT so we would really love to have one or two donated by several people.

HDV/DV TAPE STOCK

This is the best price I've found so far. You can send to the PO Box or IM me for a direct mail address so we can hopefully get some to us in time for the next shoot! icon_smile.gif

Thanks!
