I just finished watching The Price of Duty for the second time. Although it was made all those years ago, it has a "prequel" feel to it, as you can see where the Hidden Frontier Universe got its start from (Maybe it should be the "Angeles Universe?").

I also noticed something after watching the end credits Commander Grunstad was Retconned into Commander Tolian Naros that added to the prequel feel and gave an extra connection to the Hidden Frontier Universe to follow.

I wont get into an over kill on reviews, I just want to give my DEEPEST HEARTFELT THANKS to EVERYONE who brought this to us, your loyal fans. We know that this has been in the works for a while, and that the people making it possible are GIVING or THEIR OWN TIME and RESOURCES to give us, THE FANS, something to brighten our day.

Perhaps the HF Universe is just on a WELL DESERVED BREAK, for when the NEXT CHAPTER comes out, I will be there.

Your On again/Off again, but always Loyal Fan,
Scott

Oh wow! I know what I'm watching next.

Also, looking at the topic thread -- Few of us realize how long it takes for a fan or original volunteer project to get done, and done right. This restoration has been ongoing, with whatever strangeness and wonder in real life for the restoration crew, for years. They didn't quit. They stayed with it because they love it.

Other groups' projects have also faced extreme delays but have kept at it. The thing is, they do good stuff.

It's a valuable reminder for all of us who do something extra. Keep at it. Reassess. Try alternatives. Get remotivated. But if it's something you love and want to do, to create, keep on plugging away.

----- Later - Time Passes - Watched Movie -----

That was great! Some standout performances, some really great moments, humor too, and yes, occasional rough spots, but altogether a great movie. Plainly a lot of love and hard work went into the movie.

....Extra love in the turbolift....

Two of my favorite bits:

The black crew woman gets into it in the fight scene. Score +10 for believability. She did her line there perfectly. If your ship is ever attacked, you want her on *your* side. ...must have been a rough day at the office....

Cadet Howard, or as quoted by a fan elsewhere, "oh, thar be the youngest dude" when he looks around, sees he's the one "volunteered" to get captured, hangs his head, "yes, sir" (dejected voice). Hah, perfect. -- While it's unlikely a (human) kid that young would be a Starfleet cadet until around 16, it *is* very likely that kids on civilian starships, starbases, and colonies would be doing real work, learning the ropes, and would have to help out in an emergency. Think of frontier and farm/ranch kids. Kids that age *did* work on ships in the 1700's and 1800's. -- Good job, cadet. Hmm, he's now about 13 years older, probably would be a lieutenant or lt. cmdr. by now.

The poker scene and the nothing replicated bar scene, great.

I liked seeing Qu'qul and Sue, who appeared later.

This was also great to see how everyone got started, people who later appeared in Hidden Frontier.

The one thing I hope HFP can do in future shows, fan or original, is standing sets or set pieces and props, so they don't have to use green screens when real sets and props are needed. Of course, that wasn't doable before, but in future, it will be worth it.

Terrific movie, fantastic to see it at last. Thanks, HFP and Angeles!
