I was talking with DCNightwolf last night and we were figuring that perhaps the HFers who are going to Gaylaxicon might want to get together and either go to dinner or have a little party or something. As of right now, the only HFers I know who are going are DCN, Sabar, Rick Pike, Dracut and myself. Is anyone else going and, if so, would you be interested in setting up a get-together for dinner or a "party" or somesuch?

Are you actually attending the event?
There's a pretty packed agenda, so maybe people would want to gather at the various seminars and social activities and enjoy it all together. I was planning on going, but I'll be in business in Nashville on the Friday, and I decided to stay down in Tennessee for an extended weekend (since it is the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday on that Monday) |

With airports, BWI is probably the furthest out, in Baltimore. Dulles and National are closer, National being the closest, I think. (Yes I'm still kind of a newbie to the area.) If you take Amtrak, you'll be coming into Union Station. National and Union Station have easy Metro access; Dulles and BWI you'll likely end up taking a taxi or needing to rent a car.

From Reagan National Airport (Code: DCA), there is MetroLink service literally door-to-door. The stop in Bethesda is within a few moments (not minutes) walk from the hotel.

I got a response off-line. Turns out there's going to be a banquet and one of the nights for going out to dinner is going to be out for HF'ers. I also found out that I'll be doing a talk on Sunday afternoon (due to technical equipment needs), and there'll be one night of singing (which is fine).
