We're a bit overdue for this reminder:

Banners need to be small enough that they don't drastically slow page loads, AND don't clutter up the forums. Banners also display differently depending on your screen size settings. With people still running 800X600 and 1024X768, large banners get even LARGER when viewed at those resolutions.

Banners are a way to creatively express yourself, write a unique tag on your posts and promote you, your fan-film, etc.

Banners should be horizontal graphics or text, no more than 800X150 in dimension.

If you want a box image instead of a banner then just make sure it's no more than 200 pixels in vertical dimension.

Excessive text that goes beyond those dimensions is also not allowed.

Banner content should follow board rules. If you're promoting yourself, cool. If you're promoting Coca Cola, please don't. If you're the CEO of Coca Cola, cool. Point being, feel free to promote YOU, but unless you are a prominent leader of an organization, please don't promote it on the forums.

Please take a week to review your banners and reduce size, or modify content as applicable. Thanks!

Rob

This may have been directed at me. My son made me a HUGE banner.

Nobody is being singled out, believe me there are a LOT of over-sized banners out there. icon_smile.gif

But thanks!

Thanks for that Rob. I switched off viewing banners/signatures in my board settings because it was getting annoying.
