Why wouldn't I?

Because not everyone does. Mostly it's the filkers who know who she is.

My intro to 'Filk'? comes from Happy Rhodes and Kate Bush, although I'm not sure I was really familiar with that label before today...
Doesn't she also write Trek books?

Not under her own name. She co-writes with someone under L.A. Graf (Let's All Get Rich and Famous)

LOL I responded to the PM before seeing the thread, so now we are double dipping a bit - but I'll repeat just so this conversation also retains some coherence.

But yeah, in the information age, pseudonyms are obsolete.

Getting, ahem, back to the topic of the thread:

I've been wondering whether to share this or not, but as one who has family members with autism, as soon as I saw the character in HE 101, I said to myself, "Asperger syndrome!"

I feel certain that's not what the show's creators had in mind, but privately I like to think that Rockney's presence on the show demonstrates Starfleet's commitment to including people with disabilities.

Rockney's a bizarre one, that's for sure, but no, I don't think he's crazy.

Besides, I've been known to clue into my car's moods. icon_lol.gif bulb.gif

I think it's more than that. He shows that all people who might not necessarily feel comfortable with people can gravitate to other things and still create beauty. But that's just me. Helen is his beautiful girl. Just like Enterprise was Kirk's.

Who's to say Rockney isn't actually in communication with the ship? Maybe some lonely entity wandering through the universe made itself at home on Helena. It is Star Trek after all.

Rockney can holoprogram himself up an avatar representation of the ship, come to think of it.

Refit the vessels decks with holoemitter on every deck and with a good programming he could create a functional avatar hologram ala Gene Roddenberry's 'Andromeda'

(and Andromeda on that show was smokin hot. icon_wink.gif )
