Does anyone know why Praetor Yeshva is the only Romulan in these fan series that doesn't have ridges on her forehead?

I would speculate that it is because HFP is showing that Romulans also have a diversity to their race. If you might recall, in TOS the Romulans didn't have the ridges. It wasn't until TNG and beyond that they did.

The make up budget wasn't large enough to give her ridges. |

It's specifically to show that there is diversity in the Romulan genome. John Whiting and Rob Caves have the story behind the "why" in the real world - but that is the "why" in the series. -Jonathan |

Yeah, it's deliberate.
After Nemesis came out we reasoned all Romulans and Vulcans have smooth foreheads, and only those Romulans that have some interbreeding with Remans have the "mixed" forehead look. So it would make sense that someone as high up as Yeshva would be mostly purebred Romulan and be most removed from the slave race. Rob |

Socially that would make sense too since historically people higher up have an aversion to mingling with the 'lesser' people. When I saw it, it didn't bother me and I assumed it was a racial diversity issue.
