The new Angeles theme by Bodo Hartwig was approved by Janice and I recently and Bodo has begun scoring with it.
Enjoy! http://hiddenfrontier.uk.lttmirror.com/ROB...esMainTheme.mp3 Rob |

I have to say, I'm much impressed. It got about 15 plays last night during/after chat. Bodo's outdone himself again.
One question. Is this the theme for the movie, the new audio series, or both? I got the impression it was both, but I don't like assuming things unless I really have to. |

Very kind The theme (the tunes) will be the same, but this version of it is for the audio series. Bodo |

Nice work as always Bodo! - I have added Angeles to my ever growing MP3 player collection of HF / INT theme songs. I had it playing all day yesterday! I'm curious, the instrumentation reminds me a little of the themes from the second and fourth seasons of Babylon 5. Was there any deliberate echoes in there? In the same way your Grissom theme has a gentler, softer tone to it, reminiscent of the underlying mood of the Decker / Ilia tone from the motion picture? Even if I am seeing patterns that were not deliberate, the music is amazing. More please! |

LOL, there are no patterns or deliberate echoes. But I know Christopher Franke's work for B5 of course. Apart from most common Hollywood composers, guys like Franke, Bear McCreary and Tamiya Terashima are certainly amongst those who influenced me to a certain extend. I'm also a big fran of Brahms, Bruckner and Thaikovsky, so that's really the background I'm coming from.
Thanks anyway, and I'm glad people like it! There is of course more Angeles music to come, so stay tuned. Bodo (minor spelling edit) This post has been edited by ST_Edison: Mar 27 2010, 10:17 AM |

I am very glad the adventures of the USS Angeles haven't forgotten. I am very curious about how this will turn out. Who knows, there will be actual new (video) episodes of this great show (I recently saw the old ones, which was pretty cool), along with the new planned audio series!
At any rate, I loved the theme. A very good job. Daniel |
