Hidden Frontier Productions is proud to announce a special treat for our fans.
A special audio episode of “Star Trek: Odyssey”, set between seasons 2 and 3, starring Brandon McConnell as Ro Nevin, who is guided toward his destiny by Benjamin Sisko (Clynell Jackson). Odyssey episode # 3-00, “A Light in the Dark” was originally intended to be part of the video series, but regretfully, the scheduling could not be worked out for it. This episode carries a great cast of guest stars including Clynell Jackson, Melodee M. Spevack, Michael McConnohie, John Nelson, Katie Moss, and Andrew Foster. Auditions were held for certain roles in the episode, listed a Classified HFP project. Our thanks to everyone who auditioned! Written and directed by Camren T. Burton, ODY-3x00 is now entering post-production, and we expect a September release date for this episode. Updates will be posted on the final release date on the forum. Keep watching! |

To give an indication of where things are, I just sent the "rough draft" for the first scene to Cam for his review.

******UPDATE******
We have all the cast members' lines in except for one, plus a few pickups from another. Assembly is proceeding nicely. It's still too early to give a concrete release date. More updates will be posted as they come! |

More updates will be posted as they come! From the editing bay (i.e. my bedroom).... We're at about...57% assembled. Should be able to get another 15% of it or so done by tomorrow barring any changes that Cam has. There's one scene that will require a bit more work and may not get done until later in the week. After that, I'm dependent on the aforementioned submissions (that, and I'm going on holiday late next week). This will be the first production put together using a new set of tools that I've procured. I'd go into more detail, but I'm legally proscribed from doing so at the present time (I'll fill everyone in once my NDA expires). Suffice it to say, I think everyone will be pleased with the audio quality of this production and others on my plate (HMD 1.05 might suffer a bit of a delay because I'm going to reassemble it from square one). |

I've got that last scene into Cam...need to do some major tweaking to the "big scene" I just sent him, but otherwise, we're holding on pickup lines. Should be able to cough up an assembly cut to the composer by next week.

From the editing bay (i.e. my bedroom)....
I'm happy to report that the first assembly cut of this episode has just been forwarded to the Director for his review. If accepted, we'll be holding for the music and voiceover narration, after which work on the final cut can commence. Right now, the episode is weighing in at around 39:30 with main title, but without end credits. Cheers! |

And with some tweaking to some of the sound effects and the re-rendering of a scene that got a bit scrambled up the first time around, we have a final assembly cut. It has been forwarded to the composer for scoring.
Cheers! |

any word on release date? or is it too early? I think Cam is gunning for the end of the month, but that will be dependent on when we get the music for the episode. Mixing the music in doesn't take all that terribly long. So I think it's safe to say "in the next few weeks". |

David, you took the words out of my mouth - though if Gareth finishes early, I won't be complaining.

This is great news.
I especially want to thank Cam for stepping up to the plate to write an episode high-quality enough to get the green-light from Rob, AND get a lot of names to sign on. We all owe a great debt of gratitude top everyone involved in this project for going above and beyond the call of duty. Looking forward to the finished product! |
