Hullo all,
I read on the Odyssey thread the question was raised about Fed one ending or continuing. The point was suggested by Andrew F that if people would like to see Fed One continue to raise it in a new thread here. - Well, here I am, and here is the topic! One of the aspects I wold love to see this series explore is how the UFOP works politically and how the office of the president relates to the council, as well as other Alpha / Beta / Gamma quadrant organisations, how the history of the future develops and get up close and personal with senior figures in the cabinet and various member worlds of the UFOP. - Established of old, relative newcomers, and perhaps one or two of those created within the HF portion of the Trek narrative Universe. I also think the election challenge and hostage situation ideas def deserve to see the audio light of day! What does everyone else think? I'd be happy to see it continue if, and only if, Becky reprises Vindenpawl. That's one character I would not want to see recast.

I was not a fan of Federation One in the beginning. But after reading the book Articles of the Federation I really see all the possibilities now and would love to see it explored more. And I agree with others about Becky as Vindenpawl.

I would love to hear more from Matt McCabe. I like his character and am eager to listen to him and Mara because they have such a great chemistry together. In addition I want more political plots with Vindenpawl, a character you love to hate

It would be nice, but I'm not counting on more Federation One.
I thought "Analepsis" wrapped up Federation One very nicely. It definitely had a feeling of a series finale to it. In some ways, it brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it. |

Was it an ending?...
...or was it a new beginning? There are actually three completed scripts that are, as yet, unrecorded. To whet your appetite, the working titles are:
If there is sufficient interest, I can see these episodes being produced. |

Might as well produce the remaining scripts.
If the production team needs to be able to focus on a limited number of projects, to avoid overload, and that's the reason for ending Fed One, then I'd suggest wrapping it up after doing remaining episodes. If other work commitments have gotten in the way, that's something outside the staff and cast's control. If it is personality conflicts (which I have no way of knowing) then yeah, that happens. Been there elsewhere, didn't like seeing it happen to a good project and group of people. Again, I don't know if that's even a factor; I hope not. If it's story ideas or actor involvement, if the series ideas just aren't panning out in a way that feels like the cast and crew want to continue, then I can understand that. (I don't know if that's the case, just considering it.) But -- If there is a lot more you all see that you could do with Federation One, pursue it! Find a way. -- Or if you need to combine a couple of series somehow, that might work. HFP has these characters and actors in reserve, ready to use when needed. They could turn up in other shows, get reassigned, continue on. Some could be heroes, some could be villains, as needed. That goes for any of the series HFP has. Might as well take advantage of that. I like how HFP and other fan productions have shared resources, such as character guest shots. That's great. It seems like Hidden Frontier got very ambitious and went for doing several projects at once. Maybe that's bitten off more than you can chew, and you need to focus on a smaller number of projects in the pipeline at once, in order to move forward on all of them on time, and not spread everybody too thin, or drive yourselves all to distraction. It all depends on how the HFP production crew and cast see Federation One going. If there's more story there to tell, tell it. If there doesn't seem to be a way to do everything at once without having it all suffer, then sure, something has to give. |

So I *just* got into FedOne audio, because I'm slow, and found out that 1) the length is perfect for a walk, and 2) it's really good. I like the twists and turns and the way I exclaimed out loud at a certain part in 204, and while I liked the jump, my personal thought is that I'd like to backtrack and fill in some of those gaps. Guess I'm just greedy!
Andrew, you mentioned something about having a document that 'connects-the-dots' in the assassination story. If you still have it, I'd love to read it! Kudos to all involved here- cast and crew. You've made a product to be proud of! |

I have the document to send, but I'm still toying with the idea of getting the people involved together for "one last outing" to record the stories of what happened to their characters. The unproduced scripts could still be produced at some point. |

Was I then correct in my supposition that Vindy was assassinated between "Obligations" and "Analepsis"?
Emphasis on suppostion. |
