INT. CARDASSIAN SHIP - BRIEFING ROOM

SOUND: Cardassian doorchime

MALEK
(irritably) Enter!

SOUND: CARDASSIAN DOORS OPEN/CLOSE

NORVEK
Sir, our scouts are searching the field extensively, but they’ve picked up
no sign of the Equinox. I believe they jumped to warp when they ducked
behind that large asteroid.

MALEK
And yet our long-range sensor arrays show no sign of their warp trail. If
they had escaped, we would have detected them. They’re still here, Glinn.

NORVEK
Then we should have found them by now. It’s been ten hours since we
lost them.

MALEK
Their captain is cleverer than I anticipated, Glinn Norvek. I won’t make
that mistake again.

NORVEK
If that ship makes it back to Federation territory, they’ll contact Central
Command, and the Order’s purpose here will be compromised.

MALEK
You worry too much, Norvek. I have orders from Tain that address such
contingencies. We came out here so we wouldn’t have to worry about Starfleet,
the Maquis, or the Central Command, but we do have fallback locations in
our own territory.

NORVEK
And if we destroy the Equinox?

MALEK
Then the Empire will remember our names as the Saviors of Cardassia for
the next thousand years, Norvek. (pause) Redeploy the scout ships, and make
sure they examine each of the larger bodies in this field.

I presume this role has been filled and auditions are closed? Since I'd done a Cardassian before, I'd be interested in auditioning if the role isn't already cast.
