As all the storylines and plot points converge, and we find out the answers to the fates of our characters in the Hidden Frontier finale, one hard-working HF cast member has been ignored.  One beloved cast member seems to have been forgotten.  Is this, perhaps, because other, more ambitious HF cast members have begged, coerced, bribed (or even worse things) with Rob and other producers, to feature them and their characters in the finale, to the exclusion of this courageous cast member?  It certainly seems so.

Shame.  Shame.  Shame on you, Hidden Frontier.

Well, I for one, want to know the truth.  I, for one, want to know what happens to, what some would argue, one of the best performers to grace Hidden Frontier over its 7 year run.

:$ :$ :$ :$

Who do you think is suppose to die in the finale?

They have been trying to keep it under wraps.

You see form what I hear.  Mr Otter ends up saving the Excelisior and DS12.  Especially after they discover Grey tast just like fish, and Mr. Otter loves fish.

From part of the script:

Mr Otter: (Gurgle and Moans)
Corey Aster: Otter I love you, I always have, forget Zen and Ro. it is you I want.
Mr Otter: (Gurlge and Moans)
Corey Aster: Don't quit me Otter!
Mr Otter: (Silence he is dead)
Corey Aster: (Screams in anguish)

I think Mr. Otter's last line before his death is this:

Corey Aster:  Don't quit me, Otter!
Mr. Otter:  (fading)  I wish I could quit you....  (then silence, he is dead).
Corey Aster:  (screams in anquish)

Poor, poor Otter.  No respect, even in [hypothetical] death.

I think she is just tyring to throw us off the scent.

My thought is they made every character do a death scene, so no one is certain just who dies.

I still say Mr. Otter saves the day.

I was sooo mad that in 7.07 they cut the scene where Otter is being tortured by Betras.  He's actually pinned down by the paws, panting profusely, and being tortured the hard way.  Then, Betras actually LICKS Otter's muzzle.

I heard they were going to do a cheap edit of the scene using another actor.  Sheesh.

Well from what I heard,  Otter was refusing to work with as he put it "that land mammal".  Accussing her of always hamming it up for the camera and not letting him shine his torture scene.  Well he flipped her is web paw. told her to EAT FISH! and left the studio.

I heard about that on The Soup, or E!, but wasn't sure if it was true or not.  Still, I find it hard to believe.  Mr. Otter is quite the consummate professional when it comes to acting.  And he certainly couldn't have objected to be squirted with water...  still, I think I will wait until Otter makes some sort of public statement about it.  Really, I guess I am still in shock.  Rob must have been furious, because he didn't include Otter's scenes in the finale in the preview trailer.  Rumors leaking out of the HF camp seem to indicate Otter plays a pivotal role in the ending.

Far be it from me to publicly criticize a fellow crewmember for their less than professional, prima-donna-like behavior.  (And no, being paid does not automatically mean that you perform OR behave at a professional level.  It only means that you got paid.)

I will therefore not repeat the rumors of fish being rejected as "not fresh enough" because it quit moving after twenty minutes of being out of water, or demands that another certain aquatic mammal be fired as a condition of continued performance.  I will not launch wild speculations on the final fate of Benjamin after his disappearance, let alone fuel pointless speculation by wondering why there were turkey feathers in the bath water a few months ago.

I will, however, be the first to admit that Mr. Otter is perhaps the best in the ensemble at playing the "strong, silent type", even better than Anthony Diaz, who does rather well himself.  There is absolutely NO truth to the rumor that we had to bring a speech therapist onto the set to help deal with a persistent lisp; people are blowing a minor gaffe in his lines entirely out of proportion.

To the outrageous story that Mr. Otter embezzled a few hundred clams so he could buy, well, a few hundred clams, even his agent will not deign to say anything more than "No comment!"

Lastly, no matter how perverted (except that time with the three minors and the sea lion, which was just plain illegal) his private life, it is not fair game for public discussion, particularly when a trial date hasn't even been set yet.

So, you can see that my high standard of ethics does not permit me to address the so-called "Otter Issue" at all.  And you can quote me on that.

Denigration?  Really, sir!  I said nothing against Mr. Otter and even urged others to stop spreading rumors (regardless of their alleged veracity) about him.  After all, a slur against one member of the cast, even when earned, is a poor reflection on the cast as a whole.

I have nothing but respect for Mr. Otter.  As an actor.

I stand corrected, and will count you in for signing the Internet-wide petition to have him featured in a re-shoot of the finale.

Whoa, hold on there!  That's a low blow.

You know perfectly well that after his 'less than stellar' performance on Larry King, Mr. Otter checked himself in, VOLUNTARILY, I might add, to an unidentified  Marin County rehab center "...to deal with some personal issues that have crept up due to the stresses of working on Hidden Frontiers."

I don't think it is fair to bring up that... unfortunate ...incident that occurred at a time when Mr. Otter was clearly vulnerable to the wild Hollywood lifestyle.  His private lifestyle really shouldn't enter into this discussion.  Or perhaps you are just otter-bashing?

Fair is fair.
