Well, where to begin. From the few times we see the Archien city, it looks and sounds like it's raining quite heavily. From
this, I'd guess their home planet is a rather damp place. ;D
The blue skin and glittery scale like markings on the face, seems to indicate aquatic origins for this species.
The ships also bear this hypothosis out. A fleet of attacking Archien ships reminds me of a shoal of attacking
barracuda. VERY aquatic appearance. The Temple of the Great Ones seems to indicate that a religon, of sorts,
is an important part of Archien life. Anyone else notice anything else to add to this? 8)

You know till you mentioned it I didn't make the Aquatic connection, interesting. I agree with the the Archien fleet it reminded my of a school of fish as well. Partly because the vessels themselves are fish like.
I do think religion for them will play and important role and we will see more of it. I have a feeling it will mirror our society, where religion is used by some to justify their actions.

I actually based the design of the ships on a fish. Whether the Archein linearage comes from fish like creatures is another matter.

The original idea was some sort of amphibious origins and we were gonna have gills at one point. While that got shelved, I'm still the aquatic origins stayed intact.
Best,

That is a kind of cool back story, with aquatic orgins and ships that reflected it.
MMMM, now I wonder where you got the makeup ideas.

Will Mama find out what her daughter is doing before she dies. It seems it may be part of the religon not to attack for a new homeworld. Mama ask if the system was empty.

I'm curious to know more about why their galaxy is dieing hence their need to find someplace else to go to. I think had they asked for help instead of invading they'd have gotten it. But perhaps they felt their survival was at stake and decided to just attack. I have a feeling more of this will come out in future episodes.

From what I gathered, they didn't actually decide. It was the daughter/princess/whatever (forgotten the correct term lol) who decided to attack. Their leader was told that our galazy was uninhabited. Its all the doing of the military.

Remember this has been going on for up to 300 years are more. Plus the probe is only half way to their home galaxy that was sent in Kirk's time.

But only at the direction of the daughter. The mother would not have gone forward with it.

That was kinda my point. What I was asying was that the mother would not have allowed that sort of action were she aware of it. The attack was one of the daugther's machinations.

Interesting that the royalty seem to have the same surname as their race. Perhaps 'Archein' will be more of a house name, like the Atreides and Harkonnen in Dune.
